Title: Home Office: Liquor (LIQ Symbol Series) Files
Description:

Files from the Home Office LIQ (Liquor) series. They deal with Home Office responsibilities for the licensing of the sale of alcohol.

Date: 1949-1996
Arrangement:

The papers in this series are arranged in numerical order by departmental file number, the sequence repeating for successive transfers. The inclusion of a date preceding a file number (as in LIQ (1960) 1/8/36) indicates that the year in which the file was created was included in the file reference number. Thus, the full departmental reference of a file listed as LIQ (1960) 1/8/36 would be LIQ/60 1/8/36.
