Description:

Newcastle to Cumberland, enclosing letters from Sandwich showing the necessity of coming to an immediate conclusion. He sends copies of the letters he has written to Vienna on the peace treaty. He encloses a counter-project of a convention consistent with the British treaty with the Czarina. As Sandwich and St Severin have agreed on the sending back of the Russians, he encloses an order to Mordaunt to halt them. Cumberland should inform the prince of Orange or Bentinck of this. If Kaunitz should refuse to concur to the treaty it is proposed that the French should hand the Austrian Netherlands to the British and Dutch. Dated at Hanover. ff. 76-82
