This CD/SA series of reports is concerned with scientific aspects of the possible threat to the civil population posed by a future war using atomic or thermonuclear weapons, and the consideration of measures that might be employed to mitigate the effects of enemy attack. The earlier papers presuppose a major threat from atomic weapons of the kind used on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, whereas those of later date deal with the more serious threat arising from thermonuclear weapons. |
