Newcastle to Cumberland: he thanks him for the letters in cipher [SP 87/24/33, 34], which he hopes to have deciphered. The king's concern at the backwardness of Dutch preparations. The French are pushing their military preparations to strengthen St Severin's hand at Aix la Chapelle. Cumberland must press for the assembly of the Dutch troops.
