Description:

Harrington to Dunmore: on news from Cumberland of the flight and dispersion of the rebels, the king has decided to send back the Hessian infantry. Dunmore should send their cavalry back to the army. The British cavalry is to be sent over, but the three remaining regiments of dragoons are to go back to the army. Spare transports should sail for Newcastle to take Dutch troops back to Holland. Dunmore should remain in Flanders until the king has decided on his successor. Dated (OS) at Whitehall. ff. 104, 105
