Ships have sailed from Ostend, Nieuwpoort and Dunkirk to rendezvous at Calais. He attempted unsuccessfully to pass the news to Admiral Vernon. He then received a report that this whole fleet had been destroyed by the English. Dated at Middelburg. ff. 11, 12 |
