Petitioners: Richard de Chissebech.
Name(s): de Chissebech, Richard

Nature of request: Chissebech shows that he held the manor of Carshalton from the late earl of Hereford in chief, and William and Joan Ambesas hold the manor from him in fee farm. After the earl's death the king's ministers came . . . by the attornment of Joan supposing that she held the manor of the earl and have ousted him from his fee, lordship and service. Chissebech requests that the king order his ministers by a writ to remove his hand or provide another remedy for him.
Nature of endorsement: Passele and D'Abernon should be assigned to inquire in the presence of the ministers of the king if they wish etc. upon the contents in the petition and other articles, and return the inquisition so that the king can do what is right.
