Note: | The petition seems to date to c. 1331 when reference occur in the patent rolls concerning the arrest of Montagu, then described as an apostate monk of Bindon. At this time it would seem that he was still supposed to be at Bindon, so it is possible that the petition is a little later when Montagu had been entrusted to the keeping of other abbots (CPR 1330-4,pp.89, 142). | ||||||||||||
