Note: | The petition is problematic in dating for the only dating evidence refers to Detling's service to the king at Kenilworth presumably in 1265, and to his participation in the Welsh War which could refer to that of 1277, 1282-3, and the rebellion of 1294-5. It seems more likely that it was the decisive war of 1282-3 that was referred to, so it seems likely that the petition followed the ending of the war in 1283. | ||||||||||||||
