Reference: SC 8/29/1402
Description:
Petitioners: William Fulthorp.
Name(s): Fulthorp, William
Addressees: King and lords in parliament.
Nature of request: William Fulthorp requests that he and his heirs be restored and enabled in law to sue any actions demandable concerning the possession of Roger Fulthorp, his father, or of any of his ancestors, transmittable through Roger by descent, notwithstanding the judgement brought against Roger in the parliament of the eleventh year of Richard II, and that this judgment be annulled, so that the blood between Roger and his ancestors, and between William and his heirs, might be restored, as if no judgment had taken place - considering that what Roger put his seal to at Nottingham, he did under duress, and that he afterwards revealed the whole matter to the Earl of kent and Earl of Northumberland.
Nature of endorsement: A similar petition is to be made for John, son and heir of Roger de Burley (on face). The king wills that William Fulthorp and his heirs should be persons able to sue any actions demandable concerning the possession of Roger Fulthorp, father of the said William, or of any ancestor of the said Roger, transmittable through the said Roger by descent, notwithstanding the judgment brought against the said Roger in the parliament in the eleventh year of Richard, lately king of England.
Places mentioned: Nottingham, [Nottinghamshire].
People mentioned: Roger Fulthorp, justice, father of petitioner; [Thomas de Holand], Earl of Kent; [Henry de Percy], Earl of Northumberland; Richard [II], King of England; John [de Burley]; Roger de Burley.
