Description:

Saxe to Ligonier: he has shown Ligonier's letter to the [French] king who learns with pleasure of the arrival of Sandwich with powers to treat for peace. He suggests Liège as the meeting place. When a date is fixed, the marquis de Puysieulx will arrive to meet with Sandwich. Ligonier should send someone to see M de Mesnil, maréchal de ville of Liège to arrange a place. The meeting cannot be kept secret, but they should avoid publicity. Dated at Tongres. ff. 261, 262
