Cumberland to Chesterfield, partly in cipher, enclosing a letter of his to the prince of Orange [SP 87/23/71] to demonstrate that he has not shown any offence at the Waldeck affair. He has ordered all officers to obey Cronstrom. He deplores Dutch conduct of affairs, especially in the attack on Woud, on which he encloses a letter from Brigadier Houghton [SP 87/23/72]. He has ordered Major General Huske to Bergen op Zoom to establish what assistance it needs. Dispositions of the French. Dated at headquarters at 'Richolt'. PS. that he assumes the cartel can continue. ff. 149-152
