Description:

Cumberland to Chesterfield: good behaviour of the king's troops [at Lauffeldt]. Reasons for the unsatisfactory outcome. He intends to defend Maastricht, Breda and Bergen op Zoom. He will detach 10 battalions and 12 squadrons from the army into Dutch Brabant, but the main strength of the army will remain where it is. Successes at sea. Dated at headquarters at 'Rycholt'. ff. 37-40
