An incomplete collection of correspondence and papers relating to the moral conduct of Princess Caroline Amelia Elizabeth of Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel, wife of George, Prince of Wales, afterwards King George IV. Among these papers are the surviving archives of the commission of investigation, consisting of four members of the Cabinet which was appointed under signed warrant of King George III (here preserved), dated 29 May 1806. The collection includes a number of Cabinet minutes, or written reports, in draft or copy, formally submitting the Cabinet's advice to the Sovereign and subsequently to the Prince Regent. |
