Prince Eugene to Marlborough: the Turk has delayed him. Account of the death of the emperor [Joseph I]. He has been ordered by the empress mother, as regent, to see the elector of Mainz, and then to take command of the empire as marshal. He expects orders to go to the Netherlands, seeing the elector of Trier and the elector Palatine en route. He has sent a message to Count von Fels to put himself under Marlborough's orders until his arrival. Dated at Mainz. ff. 75, 76 |
