Description: |
Adam Cardonnel to Under Secretary George Tilson: he has had no news of the troops sent to Ostend. The lord treasurer has been kind to Davenant, and he should be content. He refers Tilson to what he has written in cipher. Dated at camp at Lannoy. PS. cipher [with later interlinear decipherment] to the effect that there is no communication with Brussels or Ostend, and that the sooner the siege is lifted, the better. ff. 123-126 |
