Marlborough to Boyle: difficulties with the mails as the ports are frozen. Prince Eugene has left for Vienna and Marlborough encloses a letter [SP 87/3/133] he has sent to the emperor [Joseph I] asking for assistance in the next campaign, and another [SP 87/3/134] by hand of M. Schoulenbourg to the duke of Savoy. There has been no agreement with Prussia or Saxony on the augmentation of their troops, but he has sent the project of a treaty with King Augustus [of Poland] to Dresden.
