Marlborough to the earl of Sunderland: he has received the copies of the letters to Lord Raby, Sir Phillip Medows and Palmes; it seems the king of Prussia [Frederick I] will allow his troops to serve another campaign in the Ferrarese. He has discussed with Prince Eugene how to end the differences between the pope [Clement XI] and the emperor [Joseph I]. The letter will be delivered by Sir Richard Temple, who will relate the news of the surrender of the town [Lille] to the queen. Dated at camp at Roeselare. ff. 203, 204
