Description:

Marlborough to Boyle: he sends a copy of a letter from the landgrave of Hesse [SP 87/3/33] and his reply [SP 87/3/34]. The landgrave insists on the payment of his arrears. Memorial given to the states general by Van Stocken, minister of the king of Denmark. The states promised their good offices with the directors of the circle, but would not agree to his recalling his troops. He has joined forces with Lieutenant General Lumley and the forces from Flanders; the French are at Soignies. Dated at camp at Bellingen. ff. 65, 66
