Marlborough to Harley: M. Huguetan has been taking measures to reduce the credit of the French in the Netherlands and preventing their being supplied with money for the support of their armies. Marlborough encloses his memorial [SP 87/2/289] on the subject. The French left their lines and camped between Haine, St Paul and Perone, and were reviewed by the elector [of Bavaria] and Vendôme. They are now between Meling and Fresigny. Successful skirmish with some French cavalry. Dated at camp at Soignies. ff 588, 589 |
