Description:

Marlborough to the landgrave of Hesse: he would have replied sooner but for continual marches in pursuit of the enemy. He has also received from M. Geldermalsen the convention under which the landgrave is to send his troops into Italy. Since the English constitution does not permit him to engage extra troops without parliament's consent, he asks the landgrave to send the 9,000 troops already agreed. He has sent a copy of the treaty to the queen, and is confident of her support; likewise in the matter of the arrears due to his troops and the fortress of Rheinfels. Dated at camp at Grinberg. ff. 434, 435
