Administrative / biographical background: |
The function of the Parliamentary Commissioner for Administration (or Ombudsman) is to investigate complaints referred to him by Members of the House of Commons. Such complaints are usually made by members of the public who claim to have suffered injustice in consequence of maladministrations on behalf of Government Departments. Normally the PCA will investigate cases only where the aggrieved party has redress to neither a tribunal nor a court of law. |
