Title: German War Documents Project: University of California Selection, Series I (UC I)
Description:

Copies of files from the captured German Foreign Ministry Archives, filmed for the German War Documents Project, concerning German relations with the United Kingdom and the USA during the latter part of the nineteenth century.

The series also includes files relating to German internal relations, and relations with other countries especially Austria, Russia and Turkey, 1867 to 1914 (in some cases to 1919). These files were selected for filming by the University of California.

Note: All items in this series were originally catalogued in German. Machine-assisted translation has been used to generate English language descriptions. The original German description has been retained.
Date: 1867-1920
Arrangement:

Item references have been artifically created and added as discrete numerical or alphanumeric sequences within each piece. The letters I, O, and V have not been used for alphanumeric references, to avoid confusion with the numbers 1, 0, and the Roman numeral V (for 5).

When searching for an item on the microfilm reel, please refer to the original German Foreign Ministry reference code, captured in the Description field in this catalogue, and/or to the F.O. (Foreign Office) number captured in the Former Reference field.
