This series contains correspondence, rules and supporting papers of organisations applying to the Chief Registrar to become registered as trade unions. The organisations were ultimately unsuccessful in their attempts for registration, and these few surviving files illustrate the way in which such applications were received and administered, and some of the criteria used in assessing applications.
