Contains annual reports (printed volumes) of the Chief Registrar, and material appended to these reports by the Industrial Assurance Commissioners and the Building Societies Commission. Early reports contain information concerning Industrial and Provident Societies, Trade Unions, Workmen's Compensation Schemes and Loan Societies as well as the Friendly Societies. The series also contains abstracts of returns of sickness and mortality from friendly societies and loan societies, incorporated with the reports from 1881.
