This series contains correspondence of the British legation at Frankfurt-am-Main, the seat of the Federal Diet of the Germanic Confederation. Also includes correspondence with Hesse-Cassel, Hesse-Darmstadt and Nassau (to which courts the British envoy to the Diet was also accredited); with the free city of Frankfurt; and with the representatives at the Diet of such smaller German powers as Hesse-Hamburg, Lippe-Detmold, Reuss-Greiz, Reuss-Schleiz, Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt and Schwarzburg-Sondershausen, at which courts Britain was not formally represented.
