Miscellaneous books from both the Lord Treasurer's Remembrancer's Office and the Pipe Office, which were listed together when the books arrived at the PRO in 1841. They include states and views of accounts of sheriffs and receivers general; account books of the clerk of the pipe, the foreign apposer and the controller of the pipe, relating to estreats and the summons of the green wax. There are entries of treasury warrants and certificates; of Crown leases; minutes of orders and orders of court, precedents, forms and fees, including a treatise on tallies; and other miscellanea, including a treatise on the practice of the Exchequer, a 17th-century 'nomina villarum', and the feodary of Kent from the reign of Henry VIII (1509-47). |
