Description:

Manuscript prize appeal No 1051, from the Vice-Admiralty Court of Antigua, filed in 1804.

Captured ship: Samuel Brig (master Samuel Evans).

Nationality: American.

History: bound from Martinique to Philadelphia, laden with sugar, coffee, cocoa and $16,000 specie; taken on 29 April 1804 by the privateer Colpoys Schooner (John Eagan commanding), and brought into Tortola.
