Manuscript prize appeal No 331, from the Vice-Admiralty Court of Antigua, filed in 1805.

Captured ship: Exchange (master John Mainwaring).

Nationality: [American].

History: bound from Bordeaux to Philadelphia; taken before June 1804 by the privateer Colpoys (John Eagan commanding), and brought into Antigua.

Appellant: the master for the cargo on behalf of Messrs Archibald McCall and Co merchants of Philadelphia, American citizens; for his own private adventure; and for freight on behalf of Joseph H Ingraham American citizen.

Respondent: the captor.

Manuscript appeal papers: petition for desertion and sentence (manuscript, never printed).
