Title: Exchequer: King's Remembrancer: Barons' Depositions
Description:

This series contains depositions, with attached interrogatories, relating to cases heard on the King's Remembrancer's side of the Exchequer, given by witnesses in front of one of the barons of the Exchequer or his appointed examiner.

Witnesses gave their evidence to a baron if they lived within a ten mile radius of London. Depositions followed a formulaic structure: details of the name, address, occupation and age of the witness was followed by their answers, laid out in numbered paragraphs and relating to the numbered interrogatories filed by the solicitor of the party who was calling the witness to give evidence.
