Administrative / biographical background:

The Capital Projects Board was formed in 1973 to monitor capital expenditure within the CAA. It was renamed the Capital Expenditure Committee in 1982. Its terms of reference are as follows:-

  • To examine proposals for capital expenditure and dependent upon specific financial limits to endorse, sanction or recommend such expenditure;
  • To receive and review periodic reports on capital expenditure and specific post-audit reports for selected projects; to review the achievements of the objectives of projects within the approved capital expenditure limits and where appropriate make recommendations to improve the handling of further projects.

The Committee which is chaired by the Managing Director of CAA, consists of part time Board members and senior management who are assisted by advisers from outside industry and within the CAA.
