Description:

Attorney General and Others v. The County Council of the West Riding of Yorkshire. The County Council objected to providing the cost of denominational religious instruction given in non-provided public schools by the direction and wholly under the control of the managers of such schools. The judgment of the Lord Chancellor, given in 1906, was that the County Council was bound to maintain all of its schools out of the rates whether denominational religious instruction were given there or not.
