Plaintiffs: Walter Mildmay esq, one of the younger sons of Thomas Mildmay esq, deceased.

Defendants: Sir Thomas Mildmay kt and Richard Carewe esq.

Subject: Claim by devise. Sir Wymond Carewe kt, sometime treasurer of this court of first fruits and tenths, died seised in fee of the manor [unknown] in the county of Cornwall, the manor of Bowell, Devon, and the manor of Psyo alias Pysowberry [Pishiobury] in the parish of Sabridgeworth [Sawbridgeworth], Hertfordshire; and being found indebted to King Edward VI; Thomas Carewe his son and heir, to discharge such debt, sold and conveyed to said Thomas Mildmay the said manor of Pysow; which said Thomas Mildmay devised the same to plaintiff, and the bill also states that the said Thomas Mildmay was seised in fee of the manor of Chelmsford alias Bishops Hall, and a mill in Chelmsford called Bishops Mill, and of the manor Mulsham [Moulsham], and a mill there called Mulsham Mill, the manor of Tarling, and rectory of Tarling, and a farm called The Waterhouse, and another farm called Southwood, in or near Chelmsford; and of the scite of the then late dissolved monastery called The Fryers, in Mulsham [Moulsham], and other lands in Essex; and of a capital mansion house in the parish of St Thomas the Apostle in the City of London; and of the parsonage and manor of Shouldham, Norfolk, and of the manors and parsonages of West Bilney or Cilney [Colney] and Aylesworthorpe [Ashwellthorpe], the manor of Moringay, and the manor of Pentney, Norfolk; all of which descended to defendant Sir Thomas Mildmay as his heir.
