Catalogue description The Crown Estate Commissioners and predecessors: Windsor Establishment Files

This series contains a number of files relating to establishment matters in respect of the Crown's Windsor Estate. The files deal with a variety of subjects, including appointments for Windsor Forest, Windsor Great Park (as well as the Royal Chapel there and the Home Park) and the governorship of Windsor Castle. Many of the files deal with the appointment, dismissal, wages and pensions of, and compassionate payments to, the estate's less senior staff, or their dependants. Files may also be found on fuel and fruit trees for the estate, entertainments, liveries, the supply of milk to labourers, etc.
