Description:

Chirograph, not indented, being a grant and demise by Hernisius son of Hugh the dyer to Mauger (Malgero) of Candelewrite Strate of the land which Mauger held of his said father; to hold in fee and heredity rendering 3s. yearly for all service; and in augmentation he has demised to the said Mauger and his heirs the land which Gerard the smith (faber) held of the said Hugh his father; to hold for 3s. 8d. yearly. The sum of the rent is half a mark yearly to wit 40d. within the octave of Easter, and 40d, within the octave of Michaelmas; for this Malgerus has given him 20s. in gersum for the one, and 40s. for the other, tenement, and to Juliana his wife 2s. in gersum. Witnesses:—William the priest (sacerdote) of St Clement, Robert the priest of Habechirce, Benedict the alderman, Peter son of Neuel, Thomas son of Margaret and others (named). London.
