Grant by Gilbert de Cantebrigia, palmer, to Geoffrey Godard, citizen of London, for 4 1/2 marcs, of half a marc yearly quit-rent issuing from the tenement he had of Edmund,son of Benedict the Bell maker, in the pairsh of St. Stephen Coleman-street, London, adjoining St. Stephen's churchyard on the south. The size of the tenement is stated in iron ells of King Henry. Witnesses:- Thomas son of Thomas, then Mayor, Richard de Walebrok, Philip the Taylor (Scissore), sheriffs of London, Peter son of Alan, alderman of the ward, and others (named): [Middx.] Endorsed: " Modo vacua per mortem Gilberti, quia heres ejus est Mich' " Uxtarius, et nos per ipsum.
