MINES: Mines acts: shale mines. Complaint of trade that application of Mines Act with two shafts requirement would cripple trade of mineral oil manufacture in its competition with American oil trade. Inspector thought inclusion necessary (1870-1871). [Notes: /24-25].

MINES: Mines acts: amendment. Complaints regarding ventilation, deficient inspection, use of gunpowder in mines, incapacity of managers, unjust weighing, truck, employment of young children, and recommendations regarding inspection of boilers, fencing ofmachinery, compulsory arbitration, supply of cut wood for props of monstone lime and shale mines (1870-1871).
