Ireland: County Donegal. (1) 'Lenan Head Fort ...'; 'P.549'; 'Sheet 1': plan showing the fort and surroundings. Print made at the Ordnance Survey Office, Southampton, 1910. The print was taken from a manuscript copy of an original drawing; traced by Quarter Master Sergeant J Leslie, Royal Engineers; (signed) Sergeant T Stephenson, Royal Engineers; and Lieutenant L A L Carter, Army Service Corps, Officer in Charge Barracks, 17 August 1909. The copy manuscript plan was signed Lieutenant J W Pearce, District Officer Royal Engineers, Londonderry; and Captain H R S Christie, Royal Engineers, for Commander Royal Engineers, Belfast, 13 January 1910. Printed plan signed Lieutenant Colonel [?Morony], Commander Royal Engineers, North Irish District, 10 May 1917; Lieutenant J T Coakley, District Officer Royal Engineers, 30 May 1917; and as Captain Coakley, June 1919 and June 1921; [?Lieutenant Colonel Beresford], Commander Royal Engineers, Belfast, 28 June 1921. MS additions on printed plan show mains water works; annotated: 'Superseded by revised edition of 1923'; and 'Obsolete New Tracing forwarded with 6/21. Dated 2/7/23'. (2) Version of (1); with no post printing signatures. MS annotation: 'Superseded by revised plan. P. No. 549 [P.549]'.
