Tutbury, Staffordshire: survey and view of the castle. (5) This view was made to illustrate a survey of northern castles by Sir Ambrose Cave, chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, in 1561; the survey may have been made as part of this work. (1)-(4) Survey of officers, fees and works. Undated. (5) 'Tutbrey': perspective view of Tutbury Castle, showing the outer walls, towers (one with animal-head waterspouts) and other buildings within the walls, gatehouse and bridge. Also shows neighbouring houses, trees, palisade, River Dove, and a bridge. Remains of black border. No scale shown. Dimensions: (1)-(4) 30 cm x 20 cm; (5) 57 cm x 113 cm.
