The British siege and capture of Havana was the largest combined operation of the Seven Years War, and perhaps the most difficult campaign undertaken by the British in America during that war. Charles Wyndham, 2nd Earl of Egremont, Secretary of State for the Southern Department, was one of a number of officials with responsibility for the campaign. Other material may be found among the records of the Admiralty.
