Indenture between the Queen and the dean and canons of St George's, Windsor, for performance of statutes concerning the thirteen poor knights. THIS CAN ONLY BE SEEN IN THE NATIONAL ARCHIVES CONSERVATION DEPARTMENT

Note: Indented, illuminated border with flowers, Tudor Rose, crown and fleur de lys, and ER within cartouche;; Bound with: Statues and refoundation, indented, for the thirteen poor knights, with a list of the endowmnents, and of the continual and regular charges. Signature of Cecil (f0 32v); illuminated frontispiece, with portrait initial of Elizabeth I, and border with flowers, arms of St George (silver, now tarnished, and cross) and royal arms within cartouche;; Binding: inner binding of red-dyed ?pigskin; red silk ties, outer chemise of velvet, lined with silk, and bordered with cords of red and yellow silk, and silver wire, with corner tassels
