Medical journal of the Lady Harewood, convict ship, for 22 September 1830 to 16 March 1831 by James W Ternan, surgeon and superintendent, during which time the ship was employed in conveying convicts to New South Wales.

Folios 33-34: Surgeon's general remarks regarding the benefit of exercise. The surgeon had introduced the 'cheering exercise of the boxing gloves'. He adds that this exercise 'should be very cautiously introduced and the objects of it clearly explained to those about to use it and... under the eye of proper control'.
