Title: Crown Agents for Oversea Governments and Administrations: Records Made Available to the Fay Committee (1975-1977) and the Croom-Johnson Tribunal (1978-1982)
Description:

This series contains all the records (both public and non-public in original status) which are known to survive that were made available to the committee of inquiry headed by Judge Edgar Fay and the tribunal headed by Sir David Croom-Johnson. It is not known if the two investigations made use of all the records in this collection, nor if they used, or had made available to them, other records which have not survived. Generally, the records concern the Crown Agents' ill-fated attempt in the late 1960s/early 1970s to build up an investment portfolio, principally in banking and Australian property stocks and shares. The records include registered files, minutes and papers of the board of Crown Agents, fund trading summaries and unregistered files.

Included are files from other series such as CA series (CAOG 17), finance series (CAOG 1) and Private Office files: CAOG 22
