Description: | 'A Generalle Description of Ulster'. The map shows mountains and woods in perspective, forts, houses and churches in plan or elevation. Names of clans or chieftains are given. At top left are the Royal Arms within the Garter, surmounted by a crown. At top right, the title is in a fretwork cartouche, surmounted by the arms of Charles Blount, Lord Mountjoy, Lord Deputy in Ireland, within the Garter. Further cartouches in middle base and left lower corner. Scale bar surmounted by dividers, enclosing compass rose; 1 inch to 7 miles. By Richard Bartlett. Originally enclosed in letter from Thomas Ridgeway to Lord Salisbury, 15 March 1610. within the Garter, surmounted by a crown.
