1 item (enclosure to Major-General Shirley's letter of 8 Mar 1756) extracted from CO 5/46 (f 431). Map of New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Virginia showing forts built along western frontiers for protection against the French; rivers, chief towns. Boundaries of provinces marked in colour. Reference tables to forts. Scale: 1 inch to about 36 miles. Compass indicator. Drawn by order of General Shirley by William Alexander, secretary, and copied by Mr Bartman.
