3 items (enclosures to General Shirley's letter of 19 September 1755) extracted from CO 5/46 (ff. 171-3). New York. Plans of Oswego on Lake Ontario and two forts situated there. (1) A plan of Oswego. Scale: 1 inch to 4 chains. Compass indicator. Reference table to fortifications, a new hospital and other buildings. (2) A plan of Fort Oswego. Scale: 1 inch to about 23 feet. Reference table. (3) A plan of the fort of the Six Nations at Oswego. Scale: 1 inch to 20 feet. Reference table. By William Alexander. Dimensions of sheets: (1) 37.3 cm x 45.4 cm; (2) 25 cm x 39 cm; (3) 38.8 cm x 37.5 cm.
