Description:

Accounts of all Bailiffs, Collectors, etc. of all rents, farms, possessions, temporal and spiritual of Thomas (Wolsey), Archbishop of York, Chancellor, Legate and Abbot of the exempt monastery of St Albans. These are engrossed accounts. The first folio has the two Cs. of the words Compotus surmounted by a red Cardinal's hat, with strings, with gilt crown on either side. Attempts have been made to erase the Cardinal's hats. The accounts include those of the offices of Refectorer, Infirmarer, Chamberlain, Sacrist, Almoner, etc. and of the cells of Tynemouth, Binham, Wallingford, Belvoir, Hatfield Peverel, Hertford, Pembroke and St Mary de Pré. 79 folios. 17-18 Henry VIII
