Description:

Letters patent inspecting letters patent of William, Archbishop of York, on intimation of John De Hessellarton kt., patron of church of Louthorp, and by his letters, 27 March 1333, and of Robert de Alesby, 27 March 1333, placing the church at his disposal, vacant by the resignation of John, he makes the following ordinances : six perpetual chantries to be in the church (1) of the Trinity (2) of St. Mary (3) of the Archbishop, for Archbishops and Edward II (4) of the Chapter, for the Dean and Canons of York (5& 6) of the founder and the patron, and Sir William Ros the second, sometime lord of Hamlak for Sir John de Hessellarton, Marjory, his wife, children etc. and John de Hothum, Bishop of Ely. Dated at York, by Archbishop and Dean and Chapter, at Sutton on Derwent, 26 March 1333. Confirmation by King. Great seal.
