The Railway Companies Securities Act 1866 (29 & 30 Vict c 108) stipulated that every company register at the Office of the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies the name of their secretary, accountant, treasurer or chief cashier. Each company's loan capital accounts were to be made half yearly and these accounts were to be open to shareholders, stockholders etc. Deposits ceased after the railways were nationalised and the act was repealed as spent and obsolete by the Transport Act 1962 (10 & 11 Eliz2 c 46) |
