Eyre file, Kent. Refiled Bench writs ('extracta brevium') and associated material sent to the Kent eyre of 1293. This piece comprises the contents of two modern files, presumably compiled in the nineteenth century after the original files had burst. The writs are no longer in return date order, but have been re-filed largely at random, although some small groups do still appear to be in their original sequence. The writs in this file were originally returnable in the Bench between the octave of Michaelmas 1289 and the morrow of Martinmas 1291. A further file of writs sent to this eyre, relating to the period immediately after those in the present file, is at JUST 4/2/18. (715 mm) |
